Twitter

I have a twitter account, if you’re into that kind of thing, I find it kind of interesting to play with, although I currently have no people I actually know using it. I’m using all kinds of ways to change my status including IM, twitterrific, and the twidget widget, the tools are pretty cool especially twitterific. Although I can’t shake the feeling that having a page out on the net that stores what I’m doing at the given moment is a big security nightmare.

IRC Chat has been upgraded

The front page for PJIRC IRC chat has been massively overhauled, with more of an emphasis on using CSS to style things and manipulating CSS for hiding and displaying elements. The code is available as always to anyone who would like to request it, merely make a comment on this post and we can work out a way to get it to you. I’m very happy to say the new page is much smaller and the javascript is much faster. I understand that most of you probably won’t even notice the changes, but the performance improvements make me happier.

A sidenote: you’ve probably noticed we’ve moved back to an older theme, it’s a theme I still like a lot due to it’s simplicity and it’s a theme I’ve invested a significant amount of time in customizing it.

Weather of Death!!!

Southern Missouri is suffering an insane ice storm that has 90% of my town out of power (and subsequently heat), this being said little progress will be made on anything by me (other than some DS and GBA time), this means progress in finding a job is going to slower even further.

Update: after 3 days with no power or heat (other than the local Panera Bread) we’re back in good shape.

Macworld 07

Like a lot of people I’m more than a little disappointed with this year’s Macworld (at least so far it’s still got a bit to go), a new cell phone (awesome as it is) and the TV thing (which I need a nicer TV to be able to even use). I’m more interested in the software side of things and that is where I got let down, my anticipation for Leopard has been growing in the months since it was first shown and it was no where in site, iLife and iWork updates (for more specifically the hope of a spreadsheet program so I could totally ditch Office) were also no where to be seen. I hope we see some special events or other cool stuff leading up to or at the very least on the release of Leopard.

Update: I am totally in love with these products and I’m hoping to find a job and setup in time to afford the iPhone, despite my fear of first generation apple products.

Looking for Work

I’m currently looking for work in the field of software development, if you’re in the need for a talented passionate software developer then get in touch with me. I’m hoping to specialize in game development, but my skills are more broad than just that.

The return of something totally amazing

You Don’t Know Jack: Daily Online Quizes

Now if only we could get them to update it so runs on Mac, or make a Wii version. I remember playing the old “You Don’t Know Jack” games when I was a younger individual and they were always a blast, and at least so far the new ones I’ve played are awesome too, though they strangely lack any type of multiplayer (a major bummer since those were the best times I had with the series). You should check it out, hopefully it’ll lead to a full blown initialization of the series.

Something interesting I’ve been playing with
