Soul Calibur III review 2005.335
the 4th incarnation of the covenanted soul calibur series (yes 4th, the first game had a different name), and it brings the series back for it’s last entry before next generation.
Soul Calibur 3 doesn’t change much of the formula, but when the formula is as good as this one, there isn’t a need to change much. the three new characters all seem pretty interesting, Tira is a character i’d like to get a lot better with because i think once i figured her out she’d match my style of play pretty nice, Zasalamel seems a bit overpowered, he seems to be a fast version of nightmare, with more moves that are difficult to block, and Setsuka seems pretty cool, but just not my style. I was very glad to see that Seung Mina had returned (although she now has a dash in her surname (Mi-Na)), she was my favorite character in the old soul edge/blade game and in Soul Calibur 2 they really missed the mark by making her a rehash of Kilik. for now that’s all i’ve got to say on the subject, so go and enjoy another brilliant Soul Calibur game.
