Comic Widget Update!

i updated the comic widget i’ve been working on, in one of the next few versions it’s gonna get a new more fitting name, but for now check out of the new skins i’ve implemented and enjoy, download link is a few posts back (i updated the file on the server to keep from needing a new download link)

WordPress Error Fix

seemed to a be problem with the database earlier, but now it seems to be better :D

Guild Wars Beta Guild Site

i put up a site aliased off this domain for all the members of my guild in the game guild wars, the plan is to have a more full fledged site by the time the game launches (including member profiles, forums, and other stuff), i’ll be working on that this week and next week, anyways it can be checked out here

more widgeting

here’s a screenshot of the latest version of the comic widget, this time around i’ve gotten ambitous and added some comics via hardcoding (to keep from errors), planning on figuring out a way to implement them at a later date, i’ve made alot of strides in the way the widget works and on coding it in more effiecent and a way that is more transportable to a variety of comic types, it’s now extremely trival to add a comic via ucomics.com, so if i haven’t added one from there that you enjoy please tell about it, speaking of telling me things that will help with this widget, i have a couple of things i’d like to put out to you people to help me with, i’m looking for the location of the comics from (th)ink on ucomics.com website i know it’s a member’s only thing and i’m not willing to pay the money for it at the moment, i really like the comic, so i might break down and pay the stupid 12 dollars for a year‘s worth, but i’d prefer to get it from someone, second thing i need help with is comics.com, they appear to use a date combined with a random number generation, luckily the random number seems to be consistant throughout all their comics, so if i can find someway to parse it once, i can have it for all their comics, i’m looking into that at the moment, and to be honest i have no clue how i’m going to do my so called half-life, because their system is kinda odd, they mix the comics in with the rest of their media, so it just has a number indicating it’s upload order, that i’m hoping to accomplish with php redirector, anyways here’s the pic, and the download link, also look here for updates (kapsules forum thread)

the grand widgeter

i’ve been working hard at work lately, and on my comic widget, i’ve made massive progress on it since the original post here about it, right now it’s upto version 0.51 beta, i’m planing final at 1.0 (as usual), i still have a number of extra features i’d like to implement (like implementing comics that on sites other than ucomics.com, this i already have planned out in my head i’ve just got to work out the details), anyways here’s a preview of how it is now

download link is in the previous post so go check it out

WIDGETS?!

I’ve been working on that comic widget i previewed earlier, it’s proving to be not too bad to code, in fact all i have left to actually implement is some graphics for the background of it, here’s a look at it as is

Earthsea part 2 and misc crap

Well i caught the 2nd half of earthsea last night, and it held up pretty decent for the first hour or so, then it seemed that last hour they realized they only had an hour left to get through alot of stuff, so it seems pretty crammed and nothing in that last hour is really fleshed out with any decency, overall i give it a 6/10 (7/10 for tv movies), i bet the books are pretty decent, sci-fi would have been better off to space it out more, maybe 4 2 hour pieces instead of 2 2 hour pieces.

anyways in other news i’ve made a skin for the dkcalender (version 1) widget in kapsules here it is
dkCalender Widget Skin

you can download it here if you want it, i’m working on a widget to get the latest foxtrot, at this point it still looks pretty bad, but here’s a snapshot of my progress, i’m trying to make it so it’s dynamic in that it can adjust to different comics (although at this point they’re all hardcoded, and i’ve only worked it out for ucomics comics), but with no school now, progress should move at a decent pace
